Saudi seems to be moving away from the radical Islamic practices as dozens of female soldiers have been made a part of the security services that monitor pilgrims in Mecca and Medina. This is the first such instance in Saudi when female officers have been allowed to guard the holiest sites of Islam. The move to give women more rights has been hailed as a step towards women empowerment by several Twitter users.
