Indian-American Abhijit Banerjee won the Nobel prize for economics & joined the list of Indians, Indian-origin to bag the world's prestigious award. Rabindranath Tagore was the 1st Indian to win the coveted prize for literature in 1913. CV Raman won the prize for physics in 1930 and Indian-American Har Gobind Khurana won the award in Physiology or Medicine in 1968. The list includes Mother Teresa, Amartya Sen, Satyarthi etc.
