First time since 1932, Mumbai police to patrol the city on Horses

After a gap of 88 years, Mumbai is again getting a mounted police unit to control traffic and crowd, Anil Deshmukh, the Home minister of Maharashtra government has announced. Even though, Mumbai police has modern vehicles, the ministry feel that in crowded areas it is easier to reach by the Horses. In the next six months, the unit will have 30 horses. At present, the department has purchased 13 horses.
