As per a government notification, Former Chief Justice of India, Ranjan Gogoi nominated to Rajya Sabha by President of India, Ram Nath Kovind. The notification declared that Ranjan Gogoi was nominated to fill the vacancy caused due to the retirement of one of the nominated member. Gogoi was appointed as the 46th CJI, and had the tenure of a little over 13 months. Gogoi also left a note for the Supreme Court Bar Association.
