French museum discovers more than half of paintings are fake

French museum dedicated to the 19th-century Fauvist Étienne Terrus has revealed more than half of the works are fake. The museum has spent over 160,000 euros (Rs 1,28,77,914)in last 20 years. The revelation was made public after the grand reopening of the museum. The building in the museum was built after the death of the artist. At least 82 paintings were found fake and are under police supervision.
