Government directs e-commerce companies to slash single-use plastic in packaging rapidly

The Central Government has announced that it is fully committed to making India free from single-use plastic and the efforts to do so can already be seen as the Commerce and Industry ministry has asked the e-commerce companies to cut single-use plastic in packaging, at a gradual pace. Also, the Department of Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade(DPIIT) has advised the companies to develop sustainable packaging material.
