Government may deploy central forces at Assam Mizoram border amid growing differences

Assam chief secretary Jishnu Barua has said that the state government may ask the centre to deploy central forces at the border between Assam and Mizoram to diffuse the ongoing tensions. “Government of India has indicated that some forces would be made available... I think there will be peace on both sides when the forces come,” Barua said. The situation at the border remains tense since the incidents of violence last month.
