Government mulling over legal changes to link Aadhaar with voter ID soon

The Centre has informed the Election Commission that it has moved to amend the Aadhaar Act to link the unique identification number with the electoral roll. It could be seen as the beginning step to link Aadhaar with voter ID. The government has said that linking of Aadhaar with voter ID will remove bogus entries, clean up electoral rolls and give remote voting rights. The law ministry may soon move a note before the Union Cabinet.
