Govt approves Motor Vehicles Bill & imposed hefty fines over violation of rules

An official has informed that after having a discussion, the govt has approved the Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Bill according to which hefty penalties will be imposed for violating traffic norms including Rs 10,000 fine for not giving way to emergency vehicles and a penalty of the same amount for driving despite disqualification. Stricter provisions have been proposed for offenses like juvenile driving among others.
