Govt releases Rs 11,092 crore as advance release to support states battle against coronavirus

The govt has released Rs 11,092 crore to expand state resources needed to fund coronavirus containment efforts. This release of funds has been called as advance release of 1st instalment of SDRMF 2020-21. States can use SDRMF funds for testing and treatment costs among other coronavirus requirements like setting up quarantine facilities, sample collection, screening, ventilators, air purifiers & consumables for govt hospitals.
