Govt sources: About 4,000 people arrested in Kashmir since 5th August, 2019

After the scrapping of article 370, thousands of people have been detained in Kashmir because of the fear that a rebellious outrage may destroy the harmony of the region. A magistrate claims that under Public Safety Act (PSA), 4000 people were arrested and detained. Some of the prisoners fled because of inadequate spaces in the prisons. As per PSA, any authorities can imprison someone for up to 2 years without charge or trial.
