Govt to set up committee to probe complaints against IC and CIC

Though the Central Information Commission does not want, the govt has suggested arranging bureaucrat-led committees which will take complaints against the Chief Information Commissioner and Information Commissioners & decide on them. The proposal was sent to the CIC for its opinion & was signed by an Under Secretary in the DoPT. The CIC has been taking it as an attempt to take away its independence as per the RTI law.
