Gujarat's first Zika virus case in 2018 detected, 600 heath teams deployed

After nearly 150 cases of Zika virus were detected in Rajasthan, the first mosquito-borne virus case has shown up in the neighbouring state of Gujarat. The woman tested positive for Zika virus was treated at a hospital in Ahmedabad and Gujarat Commissioner of Health, Jayanti Ravi said that they were taking precautions such as fumigation and bringing in hundreds of doctors for emergency screening to stop the spread.
