India's Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan on Friday took charge as the chairman of the World Health Organization’s Executive Board. Dr Harsh Vardhan succeeds Japan's Dr Hiroki Nakatani. The Indian minister took the role when the world is battling the deadly coronavirus pandemic. The WHO Executive Board has 34 members, who are technically qualified in the field of health. Each member is designated by a Member State.
