Heavy firing along LoC leads to death of junior commissioned officer

A junior commissioned officer was killed in action due to heavy firing by Pakistan along the Line of Control in Jammu’s Poonch late Thursday. "Indian troops responded strongly to the enemy fire. In the incident, Subedar Swatantra Singh was critically injured and later succumbed to his injuries”, said a Defence spokesman. Subedar Singh hailed from Odiyari village in Pauri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand.
