Highest number of Covid cases recorded in US in past two days

United States recorded the highest number of coronavirus cases in the past two days, at a time when the country is days away from the 2020 Presidential elections. 79,852 new cases of the novel coronavirus were reported on Saturday. The Covid hospitalisations in the country have hit a two-month high while the death toll is on a rise as well. Residents of the city of El Paso in Texas have been asked to stay home for the next 2 weeks.
