Days after the horrific gangrape and murder case in Uttar Pradesh's Hathras, the Union Home Ministry has released a fresh advisory to all states and union territories to ensure strict action by police in crimes against women. The Ministry said that officials failing to lodge an FIR in cases related to crime against women must be punished. The centre ordered the police to complete the investigation within two months in rape cases.
