HRD survey suggests, there are more male teachers in Universities, Colleges than females; Bihar has the highest gap

According to the All India Survey of Higher Education (AISHE) by the HRD Ministry, there are more male teachers in Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) in the country than females. The survey report says that there are 4,16,299 teachers, out of which about 57.8% are male, and 42.2% are female. The gap between male and female teachers is highest in Bihar with 78.97% male teachers and only 21.03% females.
