IAF to acquire 24 second-hand Mirage 2000 fighters to bolster ageing fleet

In a major decision, the Indian Airforce has decided to acquire 4 second-hand Mirage 2000 fighters to bolster its ageing fleet. As per the reports, the airforce has signed a contract worth 27 million euros with Dassault Aviation to buy the fighters. Eight of the 13 fighter jets are complete, while 11 are partially complete. The acquisition is being made to fulfil the immediate need for 300 critical spares.
