IBM Study: Average cost of data breach in India grew 7.29 % reaching Rs 12.8 crore

An IBM study shows that the average cost of the data breach in India grew by 7.29% year over year, reaching Rs 12.8 crore from Rs 11.9 crore last year. The main cause for 51% of data breaches were malicious or criminal attacks. System glitches led to 27% while human error led to 22% of data breaches in India. The study findings are based on in-depth interviews with over 500 companies globally that suffered a breach last year.
