NASA scientists pinpoint new iceberg to break off the Brunt Ice Shelf in more than 100 years; which seem to be twice the size of New York. They are monitoring the huge crack spreading across the slab of ice. This process known as calving, is unknown, as to what it could mean for the future stability of the Brunt ice shelf. The crack was stable for about 35 years but it's growing rapidly (2.5miles/year) towards the north.
