Illegally imported pigs from outside led to swine flu in Mizoram: Minister

After Mizoram recorded a surge in the death of pigs due to Swine Flu, the state's Animal Husbandry and Veterinary minister Dr. K Beichhua has claimed that the infection was spread through illegally imported pigs from outside the state. The minister said in a meeting that the state government has banned the import of pigs and other pig products from other states and foreign countries since last year.
