In a historic first, a Sikh public prosecutor has been nominated to be the next attorney general of New Jersey. Gurbir S Grewal’s nomination by Phil Murphy, the Democrat governor-elect will be checked by the Senate in early 2018 and if it gets approved, he will become the first ever Sikh to the top state law enforcement position. Grewal has served as an assistant federal prosecutor in New York and New Jersey.
