India accounts for highest number of road accident deaths across the globe in 2019

According to the 'Road Accidents in India' report by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, India recorded the highest number of road accident deaths worldwide in 2019 despite a 3.86 percent decline in the numbers. India accounted for nearly 11 percent of the total accident-related deaths in the world with 151,113 people losing their lives and another 451,361 people sustaining injuries in 449,002 accidents.
