India among G20 nations facing highest losses due to extreme weather events

According to an annual review of climate action taken by G20 countries released on Monday, 16,000 deaths and economic losses of $142 billion were caused in G20 countries between 1998 and 2017 due to extreme weather events. The report also says that India is projected to meet its Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) targets to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees and is investing the most in renewable energy.
