India among top suppliers of pharma drugs used in smuggling: UN report

According to a 2019 report of the International Narcotics Control Board, released by the United Nations Office of Drugs and Crime, India has been found among top manufacturers of illegal and legal drugs that are smuggled to other countries. Drug traffickers now tend to smuggle pharmaceutical drugs rather than illicit drugs such as ‘hashish’ and ‘heroin’. The report also calls India 'a significant source' of these drugs.
