Indian agencies have observed that the presence of Chinese research vessels and fishing vessels is increasing in the Indian Ocean region. "The general area of deployment has been observed in ninety-degree East Ridge and South-West Indian Ridge," a source said. The Indian security agencies are concerned with the increasing trends of Chinese vessels in the region. Nearly 450 vessels sailed in the region last year.
