India fights Coronavirus: Testing increased from 1,000 tests per day in March to 1 lakh tests per day

India has significantly ramped up COVID-19 testing facilities in the 115 days since the first test on January 24 at Pune's National Institute of Virology. There has been a steady increase in testing capacity over that period, starting with only four labs carrying out tests in the 1st week of February to 1,000 tests per day in March and 1 lakh daily tests this month. According to ICMR, India has conducted 25 lakh tests so far.
