Ahead of President Donald Trump’s visit on February 24-25, the US on Monday removed India from its list of developing countries. The US Trade Representative has released a list of countries designating WTO members that are eligible for subsidy in which India and several other countries have been barred from getting special preferences under the US countervailing duty law. The final rule will become effective February 10, 2020 onwards.
