India procures high altitude warfare kits from US on 'urgent basis' amid border tensions with China

Amid the ongoing border tensions with China along the Line of Actual Control, India has purchased high altitude warfare kits from United States on an urgent basis. The purchase was made under the Logistics Exchange Memorandum Agreement signed in August 2016 between the Indian and US army. The Indian troops deployed at 15,000 feet, with temperatures dropping to -30 Celsius will use the high altitude warfare kits.
