India records 57,982 new COVID-19 cases in last 24 hours, death toll cross 50,000-mark

India's COVID-19 tally increased to 26,47,664 with a single-day spike of 57,982 cases, while the total number of recoveries rose to 19,19,843 pushing the recovery rate to 72.51 percent on Monday, according to the Union Health Ministry data. The death toll due to coronavirus infection climbed to 59,921 with 941 people succumbing to the disease in the last 24 hours as per the Ministry data.
