India reports over 28,000 coronavirus cases for 2nd straight day, Active cases cross 3 lakh

India saw its highest single-day spike in coronavirus cases with 28,701 new cases being reported. The number of people who have tested positive for COVID-19 in India has reached 8.78 lakh. The death toll rose to 23,174 with 500 new fatalities on Sunday, the number of active cases stands at 3,01,609 while 5,53,470people have recovered, according to Union Health Ministry data. The recovery rate in India stands at 63 percent.
