India reports over 29,000 coronavirus cases for the first time, Death toll cross 24,000

India saw its highest single-day spike in coronavirus cases with 29,429 new cases being reported. The number of people who have tested positive for COVID-19 in India has reached 9.36 lakh. The death toll rose to 24,309 with 582 new fatalities on Tuesday, the number of active cases stands at 3,19,840 while 5,92,031 people have recovered, according to Union Health Ministry data. The recovery rate in India stands at 63 percent.
