India targets to provide clean water to all rural areas by 2024

PM Modi said that clean water/ piped water would reach all homes in the countryside by 2024. A difficult target has been set, especially when millions don't have access to clean water. About 200,000 Indians die every year due to inadequate access to safe water. Water is scarce during summers & the situation this year is quite grim as many parts received below average rainfall in 2018 monsoon season.
