India to provide Rs. 4,500 crore assistance to Bhutan for development projects

In a move that will strengthen years old ties with Bhutan, India has committed assistance of Rs. 4,500 crore for the implementation of development projects in the Himalayan nation. According to the Ministry of External Affairs, another Rs. 400 crores will be provided to Bhutan for a transitional trade support facility. The commitments have been made under Bhutan's 12th Five Year Plan to boost over 77 large projects.
