Indian cities witnessing pollution level up by 700 times since 1951

India is struggling with air pollution, and with the rapidly increasing pace of motorization, the exposure to toxic vehicular pollution has only worsened. It took the country 60 years (1951-2008) to cross the mark of 105 million vehicles. However, along with that, the pollution level went up by 700 times since 1951, and the situation needs from the authorities so that walkable and cycling environments can be encouraged.
