Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, who is on a two-day visit to Kochi, said in a statement that the first 'made-in-India Aircraft Carrier - INS Vikrant, will be commissioned next year. The defence minister described the aircraft carrier as "India's pride and a shining example of Atmanirbhar Bharat". "Commissioning of this IAC next year would be a befitting tribute to the 75th year of India's independence," he said.
