Indian Parliament makes 'celebratory' gunfire punishable

Celebratory gun firing during events like marriages and other celebrations is almost seen as a custom as well as a symbolic display of authority in our society. However, the practice will not long last as a bill has been passed in the Lok Sabha that defines celebratory firing as “use of firearms in public gatherings, religious places, marriages or other functions to fire ammunition" as an offence.
