Indian Water Crisis due to misuse of water potential: Central Water Committee

An annual report by the central water committee handed to the govt in 2017 but released publicly now reveals that India possesses the largest amount of water compared to other Asian countries. But, insufficient utilisation of water has led to wastage and even abuse of this precious resource. The Niti Aayog's Composite Water Management Index predicts that 21 Indian cities will not have drinking water by this time next year.
