Information ministry to use new regulations to keep an eye on OTT platform

The Ministry for Information and Broadcasting said in the Supreme Court that it will keep a check on OTT platforms like Netflix and Amazon Prime using new regulations. The centre said this in the top court in response to a PIL filed by SC advocate Shashank Shekhar Jha. Mr. Jha had filed the PIL seeking regulation of content in over-the-top (OTT) platforms. The government has also asked the platforms to self-regulate their content.
