Islamist militant group Boko Haram's chief Abubakar Shekau kills himself

Abubakar Shekau, the leader of the militant Islamist group Boko Haram killed himself on May 18 this year. The news was broken nearly a month after his death by rival militant group Islamic State West African Province. As per the reports, Shekau detonated an explosive device to kill himself after he was pursued by ISWAP fighters. ISWAP leader Abu Musab al-Barnawi confirmed the news of Shekau's death on the radio.
