Seventy years ago, on September 17, Hyderabad finally became a part of independent India. A standstill agreement was signed after the independence but in light of crimes committed by Razakars, the government of India commenced a military action on September 13, 1948, and 27,000-40,000 people were killed, after which PM of Hyderabad resigned and Nizam VII Mir Osman Ali Khan surrendered through a radio broadcast.
