Approximately 3.44 lakh trees will be chopped down in Palamu Tiger Reserve, Jharkhand to make way for the Mandal Dam. The state water department has already received all the permission required from the Environment Ministry of the Government of India to cut the trees and to make progress with the project. The experts have expressed their displeasure as such a massive cut down will cause harm to the eco-system.
