Nelly Sachs Prize rescinded to Kamila Shamsie? Yes, it’s true. Nelly Sachs prize is awarded by Dortmund every 2 years for both the life & work of an author. It was awarded to Shamsie in early September. But it has been revoked due to her support to BDS (Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions) Movement in Israel which is considered as one of the contradictions to objectives of the award. Shamsie supported BDS movement since 2014.
