A preliminary police investigation report into the recovery of multiple dog carcasses near a forest at the Rangapura village in Karnataka's Shivamogga district has suggested that the canines were poisoned. While the police haven't released any exact number, the number of carcasses found was reportedly more than 100. The police suspect the hand of local gram panchayat officials in the planning of the heinous act.
