Kenya released 4800 prisoners to prevent the formation of coronavirus clusters

Amid COVID-19 pandemic, several govt fear that prison pose health hazards & so many countries have released several prisoners with negligible offences to limit clusters from forming in prison. Kenya too has joined the list & released 4800 prisoners across various prisons to ease the potential consequences of a cluster in the prison. The release was prioritised based on the time left to serve in the prison & gravity of the crime.
