Kerala becomes the first state to provide maternity benefits to the private education sector

Adding another feature to its cap, "god's own country" Kerala has become the first state in India to bring employees in the private educational sector including those working in the unaided sector, under the ambit of the Maternity Benefit Act. The Central Government has approved the state government's decision. The decision will provide maternity benefit to pregnant women and will give them protection.
