Kerala High Court gives nod to abortion of 24-week pregnancy for 14-year-old rape survivor

The Kerala High Court has allowed the termination of 24-week pregnancy of a minor rape survivor in the state. The nod was given by a division bench comprising Justices AK Jayashankaran Nambiar and Shaji P Chaly on April 4, based on the recommendations of medical board which said that the continuation of the pregnancy would pose risk to the mental and physical health of the 14-year-old rape survivor.
