A new report has revealed that the population of Muslims in Kerala rose by 10.10 lakhs from 2001-2011. Even though the Kerala Muslims fared better on economic status and literacy levels, their population growth for this period was higher than the national average. The report suggested that the government should look into changes in welfare programmes for minorities and improve the condition of women.
