Kolkata doctor drives over 500 km to drop 8-year-old patient, kin home

In a praiseworthy and humanitarian gesture, a doctor working at Education and Seth Sukhlal Karnani Memorial (SSKM) Hospital drove nearly 270 km to drop an eight-year-old patient and her family home. Bablu Sardar, an anaesthetist, was leaving from the hospital on March 25 when he noticed the family negotiating with ambulance drivers to drop them home. He decided to help after realising that the family couldn't afford to pay the fare.
